Prof. Ruwan Jayathilaka

  • Ruwan Jayathilaka is a Professor at SLIIT Business School, SLIIT. He is currently serving as the Head, Department of Information Management, SLIIT Business School and the coordinator for MBA programme. Prior to joining SLIIT, he worked with many international and national institutions including UNICEF, Institute of Policy Studies, World Economic Forum, International Organization for Migration, South Asia Centre for Policy Studies, International Development Research Centre and dealt with many policy stakeholder ministries and private sector institutions in Sri Lanka.
  • He is the author of several peer reviewed articles published in a number of international leading journals, including Applied Economics, Tourism Analysis, Tourism Review, PLoS ONE, BMC Public Health, Quality & Quantity, Disability and Society, South Asia Economic Journal, Journal of the Korean Economy, etc. and presented more than 15 papers at conferences held in countries including South Korea, Bangladesh, Nepal, Senegal and Australia.
  • Prof. Jayathilaka has lecturing experience in Applied Econometrics, Business Economics, Business Statistics, Business Research Practice and Data Analysis in numerous state and private universities in Sri Lanka and Australia. He has also served as a research supervisor for postgraduate and undergraduate level students in several national and private universities in Sri Lanka. He has been a resource person for many workshops related to Research Methods and Data Analysis organized by several state universities and ministries in Sri Lanka.
  • He is also an Academic Editor of “PLoS ONE” from 2022-present and current Editor of “Sri Lanka Journal of Population Studies” and Associate Editor of “Sri Lanka Economic Journal”. He has previously served as the Editor for the “International Journal of Management and Entrepreneurship” from 2017 through 2018, and as an associate Editor for the “International Journal of Management and Entrepreneurship”.
